On the small side of regular sized, this cache is just off a well marked trail, in my favorite sort of hiding place.
This is within the Whiting Rd Preserve. Park at N 43 14.823, W 077 28.124. This is not a challenging cache. Sorry, no FTF prize here. It's just too easy. The real prize is the abundance of other caches in the area for those who haven't already found this area. I'd say there are enough other caches to keep you going for at least three hours as an easy pace, if you have that much time. (Less if you've already scored some of them.) Addendum: the real reason there is no FTF prize is that this cache has been here for a couple of years now. I just "adopted" it to get it into the system so actual cachers could find it instead of just people passing by on the trail who stumbled across it. |

Open Log: Personal use only Yes, Chili, I just found it, and could tell from the log, lack of name, lack of listing on geocaching.com that this was an unofficial cache. I thought official cachers oughta have a crack at it, so I "adopted" it. Didn't want to say that in so many words, in case reviewers rejected it on that grounds alone. Now that it is an official listing, I think I'll be more forthright in the description!

Oh by the way, I feel like I've been "chile'd" on this cache. See: http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/displaycache2.pl?CacheID=8510

Well I looked around at the letterboxing sites and could come up with no match for this cache. There was a large group of people that visited it all on the same day, which makes me think somebody put out this as a private cache for a Christian group (judging from all the "praise God" type comments in the first bunch of logs.) Could have been a youth group that put out the cache and decided never to list it on the site, and never picked it up.

I was a bit surprised to see about 30 names in the logbook ahead of me going back a couple of years.

Well I just got back from a DNF on a navicache only listed cache on the other side of the city: http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/displaycache2.pl?CacheID=523
