Warren County's First Geocache! Located in the Woodland Mounds Preserve, SE of Indianola.

The home county of cacheKidds #2 was without a cache so we decided to place one while on vacation. This is an interesting, rarely visited park in Warren County. Check out the web site above to find out the history of the Indians who dwelled here long before any of us did! You can reach the parking lot by following the signs from Hwy 92 E of Indianola, near Ackworth. Once parked, follow the trail into the trees. The hike is not too difficult in terms of terrain but the round trip is about 2.5 - 3 miles. You will come to a couple of forks in the trail but don't worry, as long as you keep moving north, you will be OK. However, left is much shorter than right. Time of year will also determine difficulty level in reaching the cache due to vegetation changes. 12/28/02 Update:We went to check on the cache, and it was missing. How anyone would have stumbled on it in the middle of nowhere is a mystery. The reason we placed it here was because of low traffic. Definitely not the work of an animal. We replaced the cache with a small ammo box and moved to a different Please remember to take a photo of yourself and log in. Also let us know if the camera is full (the camera numbers go backwards so picture #27 is the first and #1 is the last). Bring bug spray and look out for poison ivy, too. Have fun! ;)
