The cache is located on Farthing Downs, Surrey between the pretty village of Chaldon and Coulsdon.

Farthing Downs is one of six commons in the south of the London Boroughs of Croydon and Bromley which is under the care of the Corporation of London and protected by specific legislation of 1878 which was produced in response to concern at the rapid disappearance of open spaces around London.

One of the other six is Kenley Common, which is host to another cache: The Battle of Britain

There are some scheduled ancient monuments, containing Anglo Saxon remains - so please do not do any digging here. The cache is not buried so you do not need to. The cache itself is a green ammo box.

There are some good views of the Surrey countryside to be had of the chalk downland, also famous for its skylarks, glow-worms and outsize snails.

Cattle graze on the downland, so watch where you tread (mind the cow pats) but please also take care when driving and make sure to shut the gate behind you.

The nearest car park can be found at N51°17.918 W000°08.070, where there are public toilets and mobile refreshments.

An easy find, with a nice gentle walk to the cache. RAin started just as I opened the logbook and just as I was getting to the car at the top of the hill, the lightning started!

Great to see these open spaces preserved within the M25. Technically I am the first to find for Navicache, but this is a dual listed cache. Took Bunny, Left Crane.
