Short Description: A cache near the top of the Bluefield College Trail.
Long Description: The Bluefield College/City Park Trail can be entered at several places, but I suggest starting at the City Park (at the first picnic area). The park starting point is at N37°14.8566, W81°14.7360. The college starting point is at N37°14.6292, W81°14.9160. The first section goes through a pretty good elevation change (uphill). After the climb, it follows the ridge of the hill at a minimal grade. There are two or three benches but they are after the hardest part. They're probably intended for contemplation rather than catching your breath. The cache is located a bit off the trail near the highest point. Perhaps 100 feet. The container is a decon box with a few little items and a log book. If anybody gets better coordinates, please let me know. My GPSr drifted a lot. |
