Lesser known, remembered or visited historical sites II- Jamaica, Queens

THE SECOND IN A SERIES OF HOPEFULLY INTERESTING VIRTUAL CACHES THAT LEAD YOU TO SOME LESSER KNOWN AND EVEN FORGOTTEN HISTORICAL AREAS IN AND AROUND NYC

Although the locations I hope to post over time are certainly not completely unknown, they are mostly forgotten and possibly more minor in their importance depending upon your opinion. I hope to spark peoples curiosity about some of these locations throughout various areas in and around NYC by making them virtual caches.

This location was "discovered" by me while driving to my new office in Queens. Although I have been unable to verify this as a true location or even learn who put this here, it should be noted that these occurrences such as this took place in this general area.

Once you arrive at the location, look for the item that states something of historical significance.

Please email me with the results of your find for verification that you found what is described. Look below for some further hints ONLY IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE.

NOTE: 1. the difficulty rating is based on the fact that the cache is an approximately 10 minute walk from a subway station up a steep, paved hill); 2. this cache is on private property, however can be viewed easily from the sidewalk and as such this is where one should view it from.

Came over from the Forest Park Cache just a few miles away. Parked nearby on the street. The lady of the house was at the doorway but she didn't mind anyone looking at the historical info.
