Dissendium is a path-revealing spell. Without a signed permission slip from the Dursleys, Harry Potter wasn’t allowed to join his classmates to the trip to Hogsmeade Village. Not wanting to miss out on anything, Harry used his Marauder’s Map and the Dissendium spell to open the secret passage by the One-Eyed Witch in Hogwarts. The passage took Harry to a trap door in the cellar of Honeydukes, where he was able to join his friends. I think that a path-revealing spell would be absolutely brilliant to be able to use for Geocaching. Just think - no more bush whacking!!!

When scoping out this area for a cache, I could not believe all the paths and trails I found - thus the name for this cache :)

The access to the state-owned land is through the Pendleton cemetery. All the other property in this area is privately owned. To get to the cemetery, there is public access between house numbers 6978 and 6972 - the last two houses on the street. When you see the yellow painted metal post, you know you are in the right place. You may want to waymark this spot, so that on the return trip, you will not be trespassing on private property.

On the way through the cemetery, take the time to look at some of the grave markers - some are *really* old. (No grave for Tom Riddle tho’!) If you like to do Grave Rubbings, you might have a good time here - just bring your paper and lumber crayon or rubbing wax... When leaving the back of the cemetery, I suggest heading north instead of following your GPS right away. Going this way, you will come across some very nice ATV trails (watch out for traffic!) that will make your walk/search much more pleasant. Once you get on a main trail, let the technology commence.

The cache itself is a two-part multi. I attempted to ensure a nice view at the first part and nice views on the way to the final, which is a 50 cal. ammo box. Nothing crazy to do here - it’s just a really nice area.

Just as an added note: While there are no posted hours for the cemetery, this is a residential area. I would not recommend hunting this cache after dark out of respect for the neighbors. Also, there is no parking at the Dead End. Do not follow the path at the Dead End - it will take you to private property. You do not need to park in front of anyone’s house - there is an empty lot across the street, before the third-last house that you can park in front of.

Found while out doing some heavy winter caching in the area.

You said it yourself, "Nothing crazy to do here - it’s just a really nice area." It would be nice if other cache hiders kept that in mind more often. I found this to be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing caches I have done in quite a while. Excellent location, not too many stages, not too far to hike. At the same time it was not easy enough to be insulting or for people to just grab and run without seeing the area. In reviewing my track logs it looks like it turned out to be just over a mile round trip. The snow bumped the terrain up about one star but did not effect the difficulty at all.

The parking and legal access to the area provided on the page also earn this placement a few more points. The cemetary was very interesting and a great starting point. After that I encountered all of the trails heading everywhere but I only chose wrong once. I ended up just shoving my GPS in my pocket and I really enjoyed the hike to the final. This was one of those few times when a cache is just perfect for the time you choose to seek it.

No Trade - TFTC - Nice Hide.

Hmm. The parking directions seem to be different here at Navicache. Good thing, because thats where I parked! It involves going through a swamp right now, but it seemed like the least intrusive area in the neighborhood :-). This was a great area, loved exploring it, and finding the multi, both legs of which were easily found. TNLN, thanks for the cache.
