Located in the Wesley Hill tract managed by the Finger Lakes Land Trust. Fairly easy hiking on well marked trails.

Over 100 years ago, after the Frosttown sawmills of the Bristol Hills fell silent, white pine, hemlock and oak seedlings began to sprout along the northern rim of Briggs Gully, one of the Finger Lakes Region's largest gorges. These young trees were tall and strong and in 1926 when three artists-John C. Wenrich, James Havens, and Colburn Dugan- bought this 90-acre piece of paradise as a place for peace, quiet, and contemplation. Today the hemlocks rise from shady depths of the gullies, the white pines and red pines soar above the younger maples, and the majestic oaks spread their wide branches over quiet groves. Except for the maturing of the trees, little has changed since the 1920's. In addition to the immense Briggs Gully, some of which forms the southern boundary, several other gullies wind through the preserve. Diverse stands of mature forest, a wide array of wildflowers, and sweeping views of the hills surrounding Honeoye Lake's southern end make this site truly special.

Cache is a 30mm ammo can with a variety of prizes

A great day, mid 70's and sunny!
Went hiking with our friends who were trying Geocacheing for the first time.
We hiked around the Wesley Hill Nature Preserve and on our way out looked for and found this Cache.
Took nothing, left a "Blues" music CD.
Our total hike was 4 miles in 2 hours with lots of stops, Birds, Flowers, water, water falls and just beautiful scenery.
Thanks for a great Geocache!

Nice spot, wandered around a little, couldn't get the GPS to settle down. Good hide, and wonderful hiking area. Used to work in the area for some years, and never knew a place like this existed, ofcource the lake road was dirt then. Thanks for the excercise.

Had a very nice evening walk in this beautiful area. We did some autorouting from South Dansville and found getting there is half the fun. As with your other cache, your coordinates are right on, so once there no problem locating the box. Thank you for another nice hide.

My 1st to be the 1st to find a cache. While logging in my Sunday finds on Sunday evening, I saw where you had hide 2 new caches. Both sounded real interesting. Decided to get up early Monday and be a couple hours late for work and see if I couldn't beat Rocky to be the 1st to find it. Half expected to see his car at the trail head when I got there. Really enjoyed the early morning walk in a beautiful woods. GPS got me to general area, but Sats. seemed to be bouncing around due to tree cover. After a few minutes looking in all the likely places (a lot of them), I found it at 8 AM. While filling out the log the GPS setteled down and read 0 ft. to dest. Traded a mosquito head net for the picture album to be used for caching pictures. Will try to get back to explore the rest of the preserve when I have more time and can bring Donna,(somebody has to work). Thanks for the hide and the opertunity to be the first to a cache. Scoped out Grimes Glen on the way home. That looks like it's going to be fun. Will do it soon.
