Third in my series of alphabetic caches. Wear a good pair of hiking boots for this one, you have a little bit of climbing to do to get to this cache. You'll also need to bring a flashlight to explore the nearby caves. Expect your feet to get wet in the caves, they are somewhat flooded during some times of the year!

The original cache placed at this location has disappeared, but the Pinnacles is such a beautiful spot, I've chosen to make this a virtual cache rather than archiving it.
To score this cache, you will need to both 1) hike the trail which passes near the coordinates listed above and 2) hike completely through the caves you'll find near this location. When my sons and I originally placed this cache, we hiked the trail then returned by way of the caves, but you can do it in any order.

Bring a camera along when you visit this park. Between the rock formations, the views, and the wildflowers you'll have plenty of things to shoot. Bringing five dollars for parking would also be a good idea.

Also, keep your eyes open for rattlesnakes. We didn't see (or hear!) any this visit, but they are known to frequent the area.

One other thing: No fair scoring this cache just because you've hiked through these caves in the past! You will have to make a new trip here to score it.

Other caches in this series: 'A' Is For Alum, 'B' Is For Beachhead, 'D' Is For Desert Phone Booth, 'E' Is For Expedition, 'F' Is For Faultline, and 'G' Is For Ghost Town.

Have fun!

Decided to visit the Pinnacles this weekend, as all National Parks are free. Decided at the last minute to drive down to Soledad to enter from the west entrance rather than through Hollister to enter from the main east entrance. A very pleasant hike up to the cache area, where, encouraged by my lame GPSR, I hiked offtrail at the wrong place and ended up getting poked and dirtied by various shrubbery only to end up back on the main trail again. Left the trail a second time at the wrong point and ended up four feet from the cache but where I couldn't see it for five minutes. Took the tiger from 100 Acre Wood cache and left a Canada stuffed bear, S.F. Giants homemade Xmas ornament, and a rubber stamp from the Pocahontas movie. Nice day, not very busy, the ranger thinks the weather forecast scared off a lot of people. Climbed through the caves afterward. Thanks for leaving this cache, Buxley! I might never have visited this park otherwise.
