Located in Ramsey County's Battle Creek Regional Park. Location of the cache is in the lower portion of the park, off Highway 61.

At first it is an easy walk along the paved path along the creek. Then you must negotiate a very steep slope. While it is not the Himalayas, the grade along a "bike trail" is very steep at times and hiking shoes may be the best to negotiate the terrain. A few switchbacks through heavy tree cover will lead you to our favorite pine oak, where you will find the cache. You might see a sewer maintenance hole cover, the cache is only 40 feet to the north.

The cache is in a Ziploc blue lid container. It contains a map, a logbook and pen. In the treasure bag you may find a small flashlight, bear mug, 2001 Winter Carnival button, two marbles and a matchbox car.

In the evening you will see herds of deer that might not mind you checking on them.

Happy cache hunting!

I found it! 02 Nov 2001 by  MikeChmi   (Finds: 27   Score: 135)   (Hidden: 7   Score: 40.5)

I'm from Erie, PA and thus not at all familiar with the area. So I just followed my gps and ended up cheating found a road very close to it and just parked there, literally ran in, and got it. Left baseball cards and took $$1.00 and coupons.

Traveling the country, visiting graduate schools, national parks, and of course geocaching.

I guess I probably cheated too. I came in to the park off Battle Creek Road. Saw an 8 point buck that didn't like being surprised by me, and four does that could care less. I took the lottery ticket ( and $$10,000) and left 4 packs of Olympic Hall of Fame trading cards. I've been to Battle Creek many times in the winter, but this was my first time with no snow on the ground. Those goofy deer damn near let me walk right up to 'em.
