This cache is a gift from my family, and I would like to share it with other cachers. It is a standard 50 cal. ammo box hidden along The Finger Lakes Trail. Parking is available at the gorge overlook (Hogs Back Area) approaching the Mount Morris Dam Visiters Center off Rt 408.

Today was the day of Letchworth Fall Gathering VI, and since I knew the park would be full of folks hunting other caches, I knew this would be a wonderfully secluded one to find by myself on a PERFECT fall morning.

The air was crisp, and the leaves were still in prime fall form as I headed down the FLT. I've hiking this area many times before, and I never get tired of exploring new and magnificent sections of this trail. After arriving at ground zero, I found the very well hid cache and spent a while sitting at the cache site just soaking in and enjoying all the nuances of this wonderful day. This truly was a perfect caching moment for me - and following this I headed down towards the gorge and found a spot so excellent, that I sat and relaxed for well over an hour.

Thank you for sharing this gift with me as it was most definitely one of the best mornings I've had in so very long. Great cache!

I was checking for caches in my area and noticed that this one was available and hadn't had any logs recorded in a few years. So I decided to see if it was still there. I called up my geo-bud Bluestone and asked him if he would like to go along on the quest and we made plans to meet at 4:30pm. When I arrived Bluestone was already there and was checking out a really cool spot for a cache hide. I love this side of the park and I hadn't been down this trail in about a year. It was very dry in the woods due to our lack of much rainfall this summer. As our GPS's counted down a very likely spot for a good cache hide began to appear. I decided to check the high side and Bluestone went around the bottom. Before I could even get around to the lower side I heard a huckle-buckle come from BS. As I got closer to where he was I could see the ammo box right out in the open. I grabbed it from its hiding place and was very surprised to see that all was well with the cache, seeing that it was so exposed. I opened it up and was met with a decent amount of some nice trade goods. BS and I both made some trades and then we checked out the log book. There were a couple of recent signatures in there that appeared to be from non cachers, that just happened to discover the cache. We both signed the log and then I hid the cache back REALLY well for the next finder. I can tell you this much, it does not show now and it will require an effort to retrieve it. After hiding the cache we left to do a little more exploring of the area and tried to find the location of another nearby cache. Thanks for keeping this cache going and for bringing me to a place I had never visited before. Nice Cache! -Paleoman52-

My first find. It was exciting and fun. Nice day a bit cold. Left movie ticket stub. Took nothing. This was my brother's cache. Can't wait for my next find.

Nice hiding spot. Several potential spots in the area, but still managed to locate this cache within a few minutes. Continued on to the Big Tree Picnic Log cache after logging this one. Took nothing, left GPS sticker and a couple other trade items. Thanks!
