Nice quiet afternoon hike. TNLN except for about a ton of stickers in my socks.

Poison oak, lots of stickers in my socks and shoes - but the hardest part was finding a way to get in to this park. Saw no one else on my hike. TNLN - thanks for the adventure.

We found this one quite a while ago, but I was on this sight poking around and thought I would log it here as well. This poor little site is neglected. :) First to log here. ;) Posting this log on 1/5/04, but changed the date to when we found it. Here is the original log entry we made elsewhere:

We came in from the northern trailhead. Had to go by a family of cows. The little guys were kind of spooked by us and the parents seemed to be annoyed with us. We just trucked on by, trying to mind our own business. Walked along until the compass went perpendicular and then went cross country. It's a bit farther to the cache than if you come from the south and go down the hill and there are more stickers. We found the cache and noticed that we missed Hotfoot once again. We took the calculater keychain and the travel bug. We left a heart lock and a bag of mini erasers. We went up the hill to the trail this time on our way over to yellow briefcase. Just then we notice a big cow a ways off coming up the road. Then we notice that Joani left her walking stick at the cache. I ran down and got it and ran back up, and this seemed to make the cow start running towards us. Joani got a bit spooked by this and started walking fast up the hill. I eventually got her to slow down (and calm down). With us out of sight around the bend, the cow apparently lost interest in us.

This was kind of a cool jaunt; didn't know if I was going through a park, a farm, a mud hole, or a forest. Really a combination of all four! From 680, this was about an hour detour. I was a bit concerned when a local large dog took an interest in my nearby presence and started stalking me, and then when a mama cow decided that I was too close to the baby moo-bears in the area and stood up and made menacing moves towards me. I high-stepped through the landmines and made it past the grazing areas. Trees created some interference for my Garmin Vista so my route seemed to travel in circles for a while. Once I was in the correct area, found the cache quite easily.

Went with my six and eight year olds.Found it fast, tried to hide it a little better then I found it. Took the Pokemon cards and left a bandanna, small knife and a radioactive marble. Scooby and Shaggy from Scooby Doo, where are you, came with us. Thanks for the cache.
