I could not find it. 24 Feb 2006 by  Boozer   (Finds: 23   Score: 122)   (Hidden: 0   Score: 0)

After returning from not being able to locate this one and seeing the picture of where it is stashed, it is definitly no longer there. We could find no better place to hide the cache than where it should have been. Had fun messing around on the barges for the first time since I was in High School. (Long time ago)

Its hard to know if we missed the cache or it was muggled. By the looks of the clue we were in the right place. It didn't really matter that much to us because we had a blast exploring the barges. You may want to check it out to see if it is still there. Definately thank you for the interesting area!

This was 1 of 14 caches we did today, but one of the more interesting ones. Found a semi-dry way to the cache. Took nothing, left nothing.

Found this one 1/3/04.

I briefly thought about taking the direct route but decided against it and took the back way in.

I ended up snapping my bamboo hiking stick when I slipped on the rocks on the side of the canal.

We may be back in spring to see how the fishing is in this hole.

Thanks for the hide!

Well we walked to this cache from a parking area as the crow flies.. Bad choice. Talk about making an easy cache into a sticky situation! Enjoyed it none the less. The cache itself is really exposed, looked for something to cover it up more with, but couldnt find anything suitable. Maybe some rocks? Anyway totally cool location for a cache, I drive by here all the time, but had never seen this area. Took the watch and left a multi purpose tool. Thanks :)

And 45 mins. behind SwampRat311, the YardBoy is back for a week before he returns to Canada.

If you were ever a kid partying in this area, you'll know the trail. Consequently, bring a garbage bag to "cache in, trash out." If unfamiliar with the area, I can give you a pallet-load of ideas to keep your feet dry. If off the trail, be careful; there are many ways to trip and many branches to poke your eyes out. With the canal drained for the winter, you'll see that Zebra Mussels are a serious problem and you might consider what you can do to help.

You'll need a long arm to reach the NaviCache, but if you move it closer, it'll be really obvious from the trail. Please also clean up your scuff marks around the spot, otherwise the party animals will be on this box like white on rice. I had a hitchiker to leave, but this box is jammed too tight with:
2 insulated lunch bags
puzzle
thermometer
watch
flashlight (needs 4 AA batteries)
log book & pencil

In the spirit of the game, I'll declare that I took nothing, but left a very flat Altoid Strips key chain & a WheresGeorge.com $$2 bill as a hitchiker.

SpinWave (picture reduction) is no longer free and a waste of time. So here's my 2nd pic:

With so many active cachers around here, we didn't think we be FTF. A very clever place for a hide. Had a nice walk on a cold winter afternoon. Have bicycled along here many times but never had been here this time of year. Thank you very much for a good excuse to be out and about!
