Wear pack boots or sorels has some steep and swampy areas. Snowshoes maybe useful in winter.

This Geocache isn`t far from the Genesee River walkway which connects Maplewood Park and the Seneca Park zoo. The cache is located on "River Right". Its best to approach the cache from "down river" using an ancient Seneca indian trail or double this distance to a fishing access site. Once you locate one of these access points you can safely get down the river embankment. Several well traveled deer runs should put you in the ball park of the cache. You should notice a water slide on "River Left" which may or may not be operating, across the river from you. Don`t mistake the cache box for a battery discarded in the area.

The cache is hidden in a brown ammo box in a tree trunk shell with wood piled around it. Numerous items from the dollar store and a sign in log are in the cache box. It has white printed "Geocache" on it.

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk, Rippie and GPS Fool. Please take a trash container and pack out "TRASH".

I am looking for older caches so I decided to start logging my finds here too.

Whew! Well I didn't find any ancient indian trail, because I didn't pay attention to the detail that said to go at it from downriver, I was thinking it said from the south. Well, I went straight down over the bank. Probably not the easiest route. When I got near, I realized that, the cache is on an island this time of the year. I managed to cross the water hazard and found the cache. I also startled a big ole beaver, or he startled me, I donno.
TNLN. Thanks for the hide.

Last one of the day and third by Rippie.

As usual I came in the long way after hitting a couple others along the way. We encountered a deer that stood 25 feet awayand watched us with no fear. We climbed straight back up after spending most of the day at the bottom of the gorge for the mile plus trip back to the truck.

There were several deer skulls near the cache. It looks like something comes here for dinner.

By the time we got there, we were starved so we took the gum (it was the only thing close to food in the area...) and ambulance play set. Left camping fuel and other stuff.

Thanks for the hide!

This was the last cache for the day thanks to the late sunset. I parked to far away and had about a mile round trip hike. It's a nice part of the river next time I'll come by boat.
Thanks for the hide,

We started this one last week. We thought we were on the wrong side after looking for a way down without finding one. By then it was too dark to continue. Started on the opposite side tonight and it didn't take long to realize that we were right the first time. Realized we were looking in the wrong area for a trail down. Took an "indian trail" or "mud slide" down. It is wet in the area but the cache is dry. Liked the pirate statue. Took nothing, left nothing.

This was Issaquah Puppy and my 5th and last cache for the day. I am very tired after all the climbing I did on almost every cache. Found the cache without any problems. Didn't take anything, or leave anything. Thanks!

I should have taken your advice on the trail in/out. I went directly down the hill/cliff, but then I did it again on the way out - That was a climb, not a hike. Good thing I saw the undernourished deer, because my GPS wanted me to go 75 feet to the West - the river. I later reset my GPS to default TRUE North instead of Magnetic North. Thanks for the climb.
