Cache is located just below the summit of Mt. Arab near Conifer, NY west of Tupper Lake on Route 3. The "Friends of Mt. Arab" have developed an excellent interpretive trail brochure which you can pick up as you register at the trailhead. Due to the effects of erosion, a new trail (approx. .7 mi.) has been created and marked by red DEC trail markers.
The 360* view summit features a fire tower and observer's cabin along with an assortment of wildflowers and other plants that are common to Adirondack mountaintops. Look for Buttercups, Speedwell, Yarrow, Daylily, Fireweed and non-native Devil's Paintbrush. Also, low-bush Blueberry, Meadowsweet, Chokecherry, and Black Chokecherry. Beyond the cabin and firetower there is a privy and a campsite. Bring your own water. Build NO fires outside the designated fire-ring at the campsite.
Cache container is a .30 cal. ammo box, dark green in color with white lettering identifying it as a geocache. Original cache contents include the usual goodies that should appeal to just about anyone. Please feel free to bring something to trade that you think might appeal to hikers or campers. If you take something please leave something. It also contains the usual log book to record your visit and comments. Please try and return the cache the way you found it for the enjoyment of the next cachers.

This is my third hide...good luck, have fun, and don't forget the bug spray!!!
