This cache can be reached by land or water. You can hunt on foot, mountain bike, horseback, or canoe/kayak.

Whatever way you go, wear your boots (or shoes you don't mind getting wet) because it's swampy in the spring. This cache is named for the newspaper column I write ("Escape"). I am doing a story on geocaching. We've written about finding; now I'm writing about hiding. Please take a photo of yourself (with the camera in the cache) and sign in when you find the loot. E-mail gfallesn@DemocratandChronicle.com with comments about your hunt, and geocaching in general.
The container is filled with several items of interest. Be sure that if you take something that you also leave something for the next cacher.

Thanks. Have fun, and be safe. Peace.

NOTE: This story has been printed in the Thursday edition of the Rochester D&C for May 29th. Above is the actual print. The cache is still out there to be found and logged and we hope you continue to have a great time with your adventure. We would also still be very interested in hearing your log reports so please keep them coming.

Truly enjoyed this cache. Is very close to my house, in an area we go to a lot, but never made it to this spot before. Tried to navigate here before, but wasn 't sure the correct trail. A while ago, got an idea for a good way, but thought winter was the best season. So today, on a day I knew the skiing would be good, made my way there as part of skiing around the park. Great fun and a nice area, great first hide, thanks for the fun. Cache really is in great shape.

Beautiful Saturday evening, out with Shil and Team Dirtdog. I'm playing hooky from a wedding and reception...this is much more fun! Rocket and Bekka are having a blast bouncing through the tall grass. Haven't lost the Chuck It Flying Squirrell yet!
Found the cache rather easily (for me!), the area is pretty dried up so we didn't get muddy but the skeeters are horrendous. Took a mini scewdriver set (which I can really use!) and left a Toonie...hoping to attract some Canadian cachers on the Fast Ferry?
Got dark on our way out down the path to be treated by some fireworks...both man made and nature! The firefly display was my favorite.
Thanks for the great walk and find!

I took Team Dirtdog out night caching today and chose this area because the fireflies are spectacular - but it looks like I may have left my LED head lamp behind at the cache site! Bekka the cachedog pulled a toy out of my backpack at the site, and may have knocked it out onto the ground. It wasn't full dark yet so I wasn't wearing it at the time. Looks like I'll be making another trip back there!

Always a pretty area -especially with fireworks on the horizon and fireflies everywhere on the ground.

Very nice spot! Thanks for getting us started on our new hobby. We bought our GPS just a week after reading the article back in May and enjoy ones that we can ride our bike to. Did a bit of unnecessary bushwhacking on this one, but found a path for the way back. Took a Where's George dollar and left a 2-pack deck of cards.

Thank you so much for writing the article that got us started! What a great way to get some exercise and spend some family time together! What interesting places we have discovered! Found this one tonight (last one of the evening). Off to shower off all the blood from the mosquitos! Hope they come up with a vaccine for West Nile Virus soon!!

I didn't have this one on my list of caches to find the last time I was in the area so I headed back out after the fireworks festivities. I love this area, loads of wildlife. got there about 5PM. Took a certificate and left a rether nice Angel playing a harp and a peach blossom can that was making too much noise in my container.Rather dry now and my boots didn't get wet as I suspected. Nice hiding spot with tons of spots around to pick. Tnx for the journey !

After meeting WMS Fresh we headed out to the cache with our two Westies, Charlie and Angel. They were more interested in the local fauna, and the other dogs being exercised on the trail. Had a good hike to the cache and enjoyed the picturesque setting. Swapped items and a G-bill. Thanks for the adventure. We enjoyed the article on caching.

Met Geo G and wife in parking lot as they were planning to head to this cache. Had a nice chat w/ them for a few minutes, then we all headed off to do some caching. We decided to do 3 other caches in this area first, then this one last so we wouldn't conflict w/ their hunt. All was clear when we found this one at 3:10PM. Great spot to hide a cache! Thanks for letting us enjoy this sunny Sunday w/ the 4th find of our day.

The Wheelygood Team had a nice walk this evening, we saw a lot of wildlfe. We counted 7 different shades of flowering trees. The youngest team members get credit for this find as they took over the GPS with 200 feet to go and found the cache after a few minutes of looking. The girls traded trinkets and had their photo taken, they're the 3 lovely ladies upon a log. Walked one path in and a different one out.

BTW...We may have seen a lost cacher! We spotted him several times on our walk as he rode a bicycle with a GPS mounted on the front....he never really seemed to get anywhere. So, if you see some guy riding around on a bike with a GPS, then yeah, he is lost.

Well, doesn't it figure that this cache gets posted about two minutes after I arrive in New Jersey for a long weekend? And that the main souvenir I brought back from my trip down south was an incipient sinus infection? Well, if you think that stuff like that is gonna stop me, you're dead wrong. I was out of work early and walking down the long, long road. Since it took me 4,271 attempts to find the Caron S Cache, I knew the area pretty well and knew I had a bit of a hike ahead of me. I managed to stay mostly dry due to my advanced hummock-hopping skills. What a nice spot for a hide! I rested a while and listened to the blackbirds. Dropped off a homemade traveller, a mirror, and some bandaids as requested. :) I got there at 7:30 and I see by the logbook that I just missed the Wheelygood team - I wonder what route they took on the way out? I didn't spot them at all! Managed to snag another cache on the way out, too. Email's on its way. Thanks for the hide!

Great day for a cache hunt! Got wind of the cache placement just before a 3 day weekend down to the Keuka Lake area for a little R&R. Got back in town Sunday night, & headed for the cache at about 11:30 Monday morning. 78 degrees & sunny out by my place, but a refreshing 62 degrees & sunny down by the cache area. My kind of caching weather. Being Monday, just about had the whole place to myself. Nice trip back to the cache. A real nice area. Posted co-ordinates were good. Had no problem finding the cache. Took nothing but my mug shot (pic #7), & left a 4 pack of gpsr batteries. Signed the log book & left my mark. Cache is in great shape. Thanks for the pleasant adventure to start my week.

What a lot of entries in a three day old cache log book. I guess that shows the power of a little advertising. This was my first cache of the season, reminding me of why I enjoyed the activity last year. Water caused a few short diversions, but in the end my shoes barely got wet. A very pleasant evening walk. Traded a retractable spool key chain for an emergency chem light and took a picture.

Went out with Quinn and finally found a cache by myself for the first time. It was a beautiful day. We rode our mountain bikes for most of the way and walked the rest. We left Where's George dollars and I believe I am picture #9. It would of been nice to find a band-aid in the cache box. I cut my ankle on the ride in and Quinn played doc. and wrapped a tissue around my ankle with fishing line. It was pretty funny. We had a good time.

Great day to get back into the sport. Have been in a Navicache slump since winter started. Great day for a long hike, and as alway's, we prevailed and located the stash. Many people along the route including one that was at the final location, but knew nothing about the sport. Had a great time. Nomad was absent, but was there in heart. We will be full force this Spring. Beware of the "Navinauts."

Ever since I was a kid I have been coming to this area to fish and walk. The waterways make for great bass fishing as well as duck hunting during the seasons.

Now I bring my own kids down the same path on the bikes to get away or to take the rods.
What a great day to do some caching!

I have never been through this part of the point and it's very interesting how it slopes behind the way it does.
A job well done in the placement and a "Thanks" well deserved for the fun you gave us on one of the first good days of the year.

We weren't first but we were the first to find it at night....

Stopped in after bullhead fishing and found it at 11pm. I had been here before for other caches but I brought my brother for his first cache tonight. We didn't have Eldorado's problem since we couldn't see any prior footprints.

I'm pic 13, the newby is pic 12. We left some cookie cutters and a can of camping fuel. We took nothing except a bag of trash on the way out.

I'm starting to get addicted to night caching!

Thanks for the hide!

I feel like I cheated when I was looking for this cache. The overly fanatic geocachers that did not let a cold dark rainy night stop them from caching left a lot of foot prints.
I enjoyed the opportunity to finally get out the mountain bike. Had to abandon it when it got too marshy. Very enjoyable afternoon.

We took the penny and left some Japanese tissues and 55 yen in Japanese coins. That stands for good luck.

A shower will feel good tonight.

Actually Thunder was the first to find this cache using a GPSR. I did it in a manner all it's own.

Gary and I had been talking on the cell phone while getting this cache in the works for public display.
Being a new cacher and using a format and datum unlike what us "Geocachers" use made this quite the adventure for me.

Gary had to hold my hand on the cell phone and give me turn for turn directions. Once to the cache I simply used my own GPS reading and read them back to him so they could be submitted.

So, me knowing of this cache before it went public does not count (darn-it)
But I was glad and also had a ball running around in the down pour of rain looking for that box!

Very beautiful area all around, and depending on the time of year or week you go for this cache you can really grab some nice pictures. Try a search on the web for this spot and you will find it is filled with great things like raptor clubs and spotters.

While walking into the cache area I kicked up a very large deer which was laying down trying it's best to keep dry under a limb. This is what aimed me in the right direction.
Bring the camera, bring the family and and toss on some old shoe's and say "To heck" with the rain and water.
this cache is great fun, a good walk and a nice way to start the day.

The picture I included with this is just a sample of some of the area. Not a cache give away so it is safe to look.
Congrats to those that have already found this cache, and to those that will!

I had been home from work for a short while and got an email (about 6pm) saying there was a new cache. Living in Fairport, I saw the cache was across town. It was raining out, and I decided the heck with that, I am not going out there. Next thing I know, Issaquah Puppy and I are in the car headed to the cache. I made it to the parking area about 6:30. Puppy and I headed for the cache. We had done several caches in the this area, so it was familiar ground. When we got near the cache area I saw tracks through the wet grass. I knew someone had been here before me. I followed the tracks for a bit, and then made my own. I figured it was Quinn that had been here. As I approached the cache site, I spotted a likely hiding spot but my GPS still said 70 feet away. As my GPS settled down, the spot I first saw turn out to be indeed the hiding spot. Sure enough the first person to the cache was Quinn. Seeing the Quinn had an advantage by being the first person to know about the cache, I was happy that Issaquah Puppy and I were the second to the cache. I signed the log book, and took a picture of the two of us. I hope it turns out. I took the autographed book, and left a poncho. To future cachers, Quinn left a Navicache tee-shirt in there! On our way out from the cache, I ran into Carron, and Lupin. Carron was surprised to see me since I had knee surgery a month and a half ago...but hey, I AM HINGE THUNDER! :)
