As far as I was able to tell, there is no way to cheat this one. There are two places to park and the clue below gives the coords for the safest one. Either way, the hike is about the same length.

This was placed a couple days ago so there are no signs from me to make it easier.

Maps are queued for generation.
Additional maps for this cache available at: logo logo

This one is a multipoint cache with all locations ranging from 6 inches to less than 100 feet from the trail. Please stay on the trail until then.

The coordinates point to your first stop which is a 4 by 6 inch rubbermaid container with a set of batteries, WG dollar and the coords to part 2. This may be the hardest find so I wanted to sweeten it just a bit.

These are all well hidden, please try to replace them as found to make it challenging for the next person.

I am including a picture clue below. It is vague enough that it isn't a dead giveaway but helpful enough that I would probably recommend you glance at it before leaving.

The cache itself is a 50 cal ammo can painted black with a log book, some GPSr screen protectors, a hunter's safety harness, and a bunch of other fun stuff.

I scouted and placed the entire thing without getting wet, but I would advise wearing waterproof boots or watching your step very carefully just in case.

Please sign the log book and trade fair.

Good luck.

I was out today with MacCrew, P6P(R), Wolfpack and Wandering Buck. We had a nice stroll down the canal path doing this cache. We spent a bunch of time at WP1 but Wolfpack came up with it. Then at the next part he did it to us again! At least he was nice enough to share the finds with us, after a while. The cache is still in good shape, thanks.

Found Henpecked in a huge patch of black raspberries. Spent the rest of the walk back to my car filling my hat with ripe raspberries and came back the next day for more! I didn't even mind the ever-present poison ivy!

This was a fun hike despite the cold winds along the unprotected trail. The first waypoint took way to long considering its not the first one ive done with this twist. Second part was found quickly on the way back to the car. TFTC (byrnedfish)

Was here last year when it was cold and miserable, gave up. Excellent sunny summer day so I thought I'd try again. Found it quite quickly this time. TNLN

A nice day for a stroll on the canal.
I found both parts without too much trouble. I thought this was a 3 part, but I found the final cache at the second location. I was confused until I got back home to log it, and read the latest. (I had a prinout from a couple weeks ago). Took a keychain, and left a screwdriver tool.

Went out tonight before the storm and found everything right where I left it last fall.

Due to continued degradation of the hiding spot for waypoint two, it has been retired. It was hidden under a small boulder (or big rock, depending on your frame of reference) which was resting on top of a stump in the middle of a small stream. I have no idea how it got up there. The rock is in the creek now and the stump is rotting away so it's not as cool as it was.

Even with all the cloud cover and electrical activity, the sportrak had me within 15 to 20 feet of all waypoints.

I adjusted their positions slightly to make them a touch easier to find. They are still at the same coords but hidden just a bit differently. Please make sure to conceal them well since there is a lot of traffic here.

Good luck!

I checked it this evening and I think I should change the name to the bermuda triangle. I couldn't get sat locks at all tonight. With 6 full bars showing, the sportrak kept saying I was 20 to 100 miles from my actual location....

The second waypoint is still there. The hiding spot has changed somewhat but it's still in the same place. It's kind of small so look carefully. It's also more like 160 feet from the trail. I'm a bad judge of distance.

Oddly enough, the original waypoint one has also shown up again. The replacement however is gone.

It took me an hour to find everything with no coordinates - and it's my cache! Amazing how different things look with leaves.

Anyway, this cache is still ready for visitors.

Good luck and have fun.

Location 2 searched within 100' of the coords in leg 1 and couldn't see the clue location. Even had the pic with me. I wonder if it's still there. Searched for almost two hours.

On July 27th - This is our first Canal Cache; bet there are a ton of them 'from Albany to Buffalo'. Fearless Leader loved this hunt! Less Fearless Follower did have some concerns with the 'no founds' in the log, so we began our hunt armed with the clues and found all caches quite easily. They are all creatively well hidden, but honestly think we would have done alright without the clues. We enjoyed the walk, the geese and their families, the Momma turkey and her little one (hope she had more than just one!)and the beautiful young doe. Fearless Leader had to stare a snake in the eye before it backed off and slithered away from the first cache site. Took the Kaufman gift card (wonder what is left on it?) and left a single use Advantix Kodak. Signed your log.Team Durant

Nice long hike along stretch of canal we hadn't been to before. Got to use Bill's new toy, a Palm Pilot with wireless internet access at the 1st stop to take a look at the pic for help. Love technology! Found next clue easily. Cache was found at 4:25PM, very well hidden! Thanks for the hide!

Our second outing so far. Nice hiding spots! It took a while, but we hung in there and were able to find everything. The picture clues were a great help on this one. Took nothing; left behind a small green frog candle.

When Geo G suggested going out in the rain, it didn't take much to convince me that exercising outside would make a much more pleasant afternoon than sitting inside looking out. This excellent geocache made it even better. Mostly easy walking, but with some challenge added in. Thanks for a fun rainy afternoon.

What better way to spend a rainy day. RobNHood and I introduced three new cachers to the fun, and with a bit of old fashioned searching, we found all the clues and the cache. It was a bit easier this time than when I tried back in December under several inches of snow. Saw a couple of neat snakes under a rock (yes we even turned over rocks looking).. left them where they were, since they didn't look too happy. This was a good challenge, and I hope more people are encouraged to try it. Your work in planning and placing the cache is quite evident. Thanks for a fun day in the rain.

The clues made all the difference for this one! I doubt I would have ever discovered Part One without 'em. I had less trouble with the subsequent searches and really enjoyed my walk! Thanks for the hide and the pleasant stroll.

Actually did this quite awhile ago. Have been lax at logging them in. There was a lot of snow and ice at the time making it difficult to find. Took us two tries to find all the locations. with a lot of chipping and chopping ice and wading thru snow. But we were successful in the end and had a good time.

Casey and I went searching for this one yesterday and ran into Jeff from the Wheelygood team on the path. So we all worked together and found the first couple of waypoints. None of us ended up finding the final cache location though. It probably had something to do with the snow. So today I was on my way to Home Depot to buy the fitting I needed to fix our sink and ended up in the woods. LOL I found the final cache location today by myself because I went at the spur of the moment. The snow was almost gone and it made finding the cache a little easier. I noticed Wheelygood made it back to the cache in the morning!

Thanks for another great hide.

Honors for this find go to Casey of the Upinyachit Team. Yesterday when we were looking for this cache he found all the mini caches and hung right in there until the end always keeping a upbeat attitude. Thanks Casey.

I enjoyed getting to another part of the canal I had never been to.

Dropped off a TB took nothing.

Gave it a good try today w/ help from another navicache team. Probably would not have gotten as far as I did without their help. Oh well it was a good morning to be out anyhow.
