It's a very strange thing that NaviCaches, much more so that Groundspeak caches or TerraCaches, seem to be visited by considerable numbers of what might best be described as "benign muggles". Since the last logged visit to this cache 9 months ago, a dozen or more visitors have signed the log book. Many of them are children. Some have come back a second time, and some have even returned to show their friends. None have ransacked the contents, and some have added to them.

It's a mystery to me why these NaviCaches seem to lead such a charmed life, when a Groundspeak cache in these circumstances frequently will be trashed.

This one has been on my "to do" list for some time. The trigger to come and find it today was the recent total ban on geocaching in the Royal Parks - I felt that if I didn't find it promptly there was the possibility I would find it had been archived before I had done so.

So, a quick find on a cold and frosty morning. The thermometer on my motor-bike was still reading below zero, which explained why the camo over the cache was frozen in place :-) It also explained why the location was less crowded than often it is :-)

Signed the log and removed a chocolate biscuit from the cache which, though doubtless placed there with the best intentions, is better out than in. And no, I didn't eat it :-)

Quick and easy find with Heffalump007 as a drive-by following Hampton Court cache. If it has been any further to walk we'd have had to return another day!

First to find? No! Yet another cache of Robin's that has been found by muggles today as well as by us and they have written in the log book and re-hidden it. This time Heffalump007 took the photos of the log book as my camera was in the car!

Found with Sandvika & his boys nearly did this as a drive by but decided not so made a quick walk over and found very easily. TNLN TFTC

We were able to put the replacement cache in exactly the same spot as the original, planted on 11th April 2001 ! :-)

As I was looking for the recently replaced Richmond Park caches today, and I came past here on the way, I thought I would have a quick look for this cache. The only log I can see is a DNF, 7 years ago! I did not have great expectations of success, and so my search was somewhat perfunctory. My GPSr was taking me to a very small group of fallen branches, some 60 or 70 feet from the main concentration. I think the cover here may be less conducive to hiding a cache than it was all that time ago - I didn't really see anywhere that I felt would stand much chance of remaining undetected by the children who must play here in significant numbers during the summer.

It is not my intention to make work for R & J by identifying caches that are missing. If I may presume to make a suggestion to such elder statesmen of the game, I think this one may need to be archived. If there is to be a cache in Bushy Park I think maybe it now needs to be considerably further away from the car park.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad new, but I guess it wasn't totally unexpected :-)

Our 1st foray into geocaching. This one is quite close close to a car park in Bushy Park. Eventually found the star wars figure. Came prepared with an exchange item but there is no waterproof box with this cache, so replaced the figure.
