Once again, a part of the park I haven't visited before. It's remarkable how often one can visit a place like this and still not have explored every part.

I made really heavy weather of getting to where the cache was hidden, and was grateful for the motor-cycle jacket I was wearing. The rhododendrons were dripping water all over me, trying to flip the spectacles from off my nose and generally making progress difficult :-) ).

The bag in which the cache is contained is no dryer now than it was when Sandvika and Heffalump found it. It also makes such enormous racket when being folded or unfolded, that anyone in the vicinity must wonder what on earth is happening :-) . But, apart from the log being a little bit damp, it's not in too bad shape for its age - it's easy to forget that these caches have been in place for considerably longer than 99% of those on geocaching.com.

Found a grubby and headless teddy bear (well, his head was present, it just wasn't attached to his body :-) ). I was sure my wife, who is an avid collector of teddies, would not have wanted me to leave him there in that state, so I swapped him for a torch :-) .

Getting out was a little easier than getting in - a different route presented itself which had not been obvious before.

My final cache for the day was to be "The Copper Horse". But when I looked to see where I should be heading, I found I had forgotten to add this one to my list of co-ordinates before I left home! Well, it was now around lunchtime, so I made use of the tables and seats near the obelisk to sit and eat my sandwiches, drink my coffee and persuade my PDA to download the cache page from the web site despite a phone signal that only just made it above zero! But by the time I had polished off the choccy bar and banana the location of "The Copper Horse" was safely in my GPSr :-) .

So thanks again R & J for another cache.

Out on a pleasant afternoon with Sandvika nice Obelisk did not relise this was here, thanks for getting me here. Thought we would be a FTF but others had been got there first never mind. cord spot on. TFTC

Caching on a crisp cold afternoon with Heffalump007.

It would have been great to claim this as a FTF, however, 2 people had found it on GC.com and one group had found it before us, perhaps by chance.

Coordinates very accurate, it was clear where the cache ought to be: getting there was somewhat more tricky but rewarded with the cache in plain sight.

The outer bag was full of leaves and water (yuk), the lid of the container was half-off, but remarkably, the contents were merely slightly damp, not swimming. Could not get the cache camera to function, but then it looked rather worse for wear.

Replaced with lid fully on and bag wrapped around the cache. It should not get any damper than it already is now!

Robin replaced the dried out geocache today, after recovering a rather damp one yesterday. No finders so we made this one a bit easier - no need to find clue tickets now :-)
